My name is Becky Jones and I am a qualified Teacher and SENCo. Throughout my 29 years in Education I have worked as both a Teacher and SENCo in various Primary Schools across Dorset and Somerset. I have also been a Nursery Teacher and Pre-School SENCo. Most recently I have worked in Somerset as a Local Authority Advisory Teacher supporting schools to meet the needs of Children and Young People with Autism and Social Communication differences. I have assessed need, provided advice, worked alongside schools and families to identify next steps as well as working alongside staff to make adaptions so that the children and young people in their care can access what is on offer to them. I have also supported schools to successfully transition children and young people into and to their next settings.
My qualifications
B.Ed (Hons) Biological Sciences (University of Worcester)
Level 7 National Award for SENCos (University of Plymouth)
Testimonials
'Becky made me feel empowered and she coached me through the situations enabling me to be guided to the correct practice. She gave helpful advice, resources and she didn’t rush. She cared about my school, the children, staff and myself. In a position and job that often feels isolated, Becky made me feel that I was doing the right thing by our neuro-diverse children'
'I cannot thank Becky enough for her support with this particular child who presents with some incredibly complex needs. For me in my role as a new SENCo, Becky has gone above and beyond to provide advice, support and perspective. Becky has been my main source of support and guidance in my first and often difficult year as a SENCo, thank you!'
'Becky’s advice through professional conversation with me was invaluable. It enabled me to consider next steps more effectively and make use of strategies and resources that hadn’t been fully utilised yet'
