The course aims to raise understanding and confidence among staff. You will be given neuro-affirming strategies to support autistic CYP in Primary and Secondary settings.
Understanding the relationship between autism and anxiety in Primary and Secondary settings.
The course gives you insight into the lived experience of autistic CYP and provides useful, practical strategies to recognise and help reduce anxiety.
This training is specifically designed for staff working with pupils between 4 – 11 years who have a diagnosis of speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) or for whom their Speech, Language and Communication delay has a significant impact on them due to another diagnosis e.g., Autism.
For practitioners working with pupils who have a language delay and need support to develop their speech, language and communication skills. The programmes aim to accelerate children’s progress in language and communication.
To support parents and professionals working with CYP to understand what ‘transitions’ are and how to support CYP by building more predictability and security.
The course will provide a shared understanding of the meaning of neuro-diversity and consider how a neuro-affirmative approach and ethos can support all CYP. The course will help identify ways in which you can develop a neuro-affirmative environment.
Our qualified Mindfulness teacher, Emma Cambourne, offers a course to support staff to understand mindfulness and how it can support CYP’s wellbeing. Emma also offers mindfulness sessions and days for staff to support their wellbeing, with the understanding that prioritising your own wellbeing is key to being able to support CYP to the best of your ability.
